SAP Immersive Experience
An immersive theater for demoing end-to-end enterprise software, backed by a self-service platform so internal teams can build their own demo stories. From 2017 to 2019 the three North America rooms trained 1,000+ users, hosted 20K+ enterprise attendees and impacted 300M+ in pipeline.

Making end-to-end enterprise software demos feel like a place, not a slide deck.
Enterprise software is hard to show. An end-to-end SAP solution runs across departments, systems and locations, and a flat demo on a laptop rarely carries that story. SAP IX was built to put customers inside the narrative: an immersive theater made to demo complete enterprise software solutions, from the boardroom to the stadium. The harder problem sat behind the curtain. A room this ambitious only works if the people presenting in it can build their own stories without starting from scratch every time. That is the job of the self-service platform behind the scenes: helping internal users customize and create compelling demo experiences.

A 3D city as a configurable storyboard, with the room as the canvas.
Karim's role spanned program and product design for SAP IX, which starts at a large touchscreen table in the middle of a dark room. On it sits a 3D model of a city that users can navigate. That model is the configurable storyboard: a presenter jumps from a boardroom to a subway to a stadium, and each location changes the sound and the 360 video or image wrapped around the walls. Once the audience is transported, the demo can play on any screen or wall in the room. Behind the scenes, a self-service platform let internal teams assemble and tailor their own demo stories themselves. The room is the interface, and the city on the table is how you drive it.
Three North America rooms: 1,000+ users trained, 20K+ attendees and 300M+ in pipeline.
SAP IX grew into a program, not a one-off installation, and has reached 8+ fixed and mobile locations around the world. Between 2017 and 2019, the three North America locations trained 1,000+ users, hosted 20K+ enterprise attendees and impacted 300M+ in pipeline. The bigger shift was in how demos got made. Because the platform was self-service, presenters could build and tell complex, end-to-end enterprise software stories themselves. That pairing of experience design with product design, a room people remember and a system others can run, is the kind of thinking we still bring to demo design today.
- 18+ SAP IX fixed and mobile locations worldwide
- 21,000+ users trained across three North America locations
- 320K+ enterprise attendees hosted
- 4300M+ pipeline impact
