go/demos
Google Cloud's unified demo hub, where technical sellers find, build and present compelling cloud demos. The platform balances industry catalogs for go-to-market teams with technical catalogs for the customer engineers who present every day.

One demo does not fit all when the sales force spans every industry.
Google Cloud is one of the world's largest cloud providers, with a sales force to match. The objective for go/demos was one place where a technical seller could find, build and present a compelling cloud demo. That hub had to serve two audiences at once: Cloud's strategic go-to-market, organized by industry verticals like healthcare, retail, financial services and the public sector, and the technical horizontals engineers actually build with, like data analytics, AI and machine learning. Designing the platform was a constant balance between the go-to-market strategy and the core technical user, the customer engineer. The challenge was to design an internal demo platform that could hold both views without becoming a maze.

A unified demo hub built on two-way catalogs, deployment infrastructure and a polished UX.
Karim led UX and product design for go/demos while also carrying program and product management, which meant shaping what the platform should be as well as how it looked. The product design focused on three parts: demo catalogs, deployment infrastructure and the user experience that ties them together. The catalogs were structured in two directions, industry verticals for the go-to-market teams and technical horizontals for the engineers. Each demo got its own detail page, and a Top Content dashboard sat alongside catalogs filterable by vertical and by technical horizontal. The third aspect, in the team's own words, was industry-leading UX, treated as a goal equal to the catalogs and the infrastructure.
A platform with room to grow, from personalized analytics to smarter search.
go/demos gave Google Cloud's technical sellers a single front door for demos. The platform was built to keep growing: in 2021 the team was already experimenting with personalized demo analytics and search algorithms, and the design included a dashboard with Your Demos, an engagement timeline, stats for views, deployments and comments, and a rewards module. The hub was designed to give demo building inside Google Cloud a home, a feedback loop and a direction. That balance between go-to-market strategy and the customer engineer's daily work still shapes how we design platforms for enterprise teams.
