The Brand Design System: A Free Atomic Figma Framework for Any Brand
A comprehensive Figma design system made for building and scaling brands in the AI era.
We built one of the most complete free brand design systems out there.
Here’s what makes this system different from the hundreds of Figma files floating around the design community.
- Brand Modular — Your brand variables for color, type, styles, and components are separated from the design system layer. That means you can swap the brand without rebuilding the system. One architecture, any brand.
- Fully Connected — Every file element, component, and frame is integrated through Figma variables. Change your primary color once and watch it cascade across everything. No more hunting through 40 frames to update a hex code.
- AI Collab Optimized — The guidelines framework exports clean, structured data that’s CSS and Tailwind-compatible. If you’re thinking about how your brand works with AI tools, code generation, or design-to-dev handoff, this system is built for that from day one.
- Fully Loaded — This isn’t just a component file. It includes a slide deck template, icon set, and a complete brand identity framework. The same system we use at Open Session for our own brand and our client work.

The system is built on atomic design principles, adapted for brands. Here’s how the layers work.
Atoms — Variables. Your atoms are the foundation: colors, typography, and styles embedded as Figma variables. These are the smallest building blocks of your brand, and because they’re wired as variables rather than static styles, a single change propagates everywhere. We include our own brand as the default, plus two additional brand examples using the same structure — so you can see exactly how the system flexes across different identities.
Molecules — Brand Identity. Your molecules are the elements that make your brand yours. Logo lockups, art direction boards, illustration styles, textures, color palettes in context. This is where the system stops being generic and starts carrying your visual DNA. Everything here is structured so a new team member — or an AI tool — can understand not just what your brand looks like, but how the pieces relate to each other.
Organisms — Guidelines. Your organisms are detailed brand guidelines designed for both your team and the tools they’re adopting. This layer covers usage rules, layout patterns, and contextual guidance with enough structure that the information is useful to humans reading it and machines parsing it. We built this layer with the AI era in mind — structured, scannable, and exportable.
Templates — UI Design System. For the template layer, we recommend plugging into an existing open-source design system rather than maintaining your own from scratch. We use Untitled UI — it gives us a production-ready component library so we can focus on building rather than maintaining UI primitives. Your atoms, molecules, and organisms feed into this layer, giving the templates brand context without locking you into custom components you’ll never keep updated.
